Donate to Making Play Possible

By investing in Making Play Possible, you are strengthening your community from the youngest members to the eldest. When children and youth participate in recreation, they become more involved in their community and build stronger relationships with the people around them.

Your Support Matters!

Research shows that participation in structure recreation such as sports or artistic programs has significant and lasting benefits for children and youth, including:

  • Improved social skills, creativity, self-esteem, academic performance, stress-management, physical health, motor skills, motivation to learn and family relationships.
  • Decreased negative symptoms such as aggression, violence, victimization, hyperactivity, school dropout rates, and sleep-related and anxiety disorders.

Families with kids participating in organized recreation are less likely to access social work, counselling, food banks, physicians and child care services.
