Here’s what some of our program participants say:

I would be really sad if I couldn’t figure skate, figure skating makes me happy and I made friends who don’t go to my school. I’m glad that I’m not a couch potato.

I am 11 years old, I have a brother and he is 9 years old. My mom has told me about the way we are able to play sports every year, and that it is because of the program, Making Play Possible. I love to play hockey with the Kids Christian Hockey League and to play soccer with the Brockville Soccer Club each year. I have played both for the past 6 years, along with my little brother. I know that the first 2 years it was very hard for my mom to pay for these sports and she was so far in debt with her financial things, but she still put me and my little brother in. I can just imagine how hard it must of been for her. My mom only works a few hours per week because she has cancer and is raising both of us on her own. Some days it’s really hard, but she loves to see our faces when we are playing sports and having so much fun. Thank God for programs like yours.

Thank you to everyone at Making Play Possible. Making Play Possible has allowed me to join Bread of Life Dance Theatre in Brockville. I just love it. I have met lots of new amazing friends. It is nice to be able to meet new people outside of my school who like to do the same things that I do. Like Dancing!!! We have so much fun in our class.

I have participated in Karate at Thousand Islands Martial Arts in Brockville since November of 2009 and since that time I have learned quite a lot. Karate has taught me that it is not all about power or strength, it is more about the skills you already have and how you develop them. We are taught to be fast and smart, confident and it helps your self- esteem as well. There are so many benefits to be learned such as discipline, respect, compassion, honesty, responsibility, perseverance and friendship.

Here’s what our team and supporters say:

Making Play Possible gives the young people in our community opportunities to be active, creative and socially engaged through recreation.  Their support of our kids is building a strong future for Leeds-Grenville.
