About Us

Making Play Possible provides:

  • Financial support for registration, equipment or transportation for children and youth participating in recreational activities.
  • Assistance connecting families and/or youth to recreational providers.
  • Referrals to vital community services or other sources of support.
  • Support for children, youth or families coping with mental health challenges that hinder participation.
  • A warm, friendly face-to-face service.

We include most social, artistic and sporting activities in our definition of “recreation”.

Making Play Possible provides support to families and individuals, helping them to connect with other community organizations and recreational programming, fulfilling a function that far surpasses the average financial assistance program.

We are committed to helping children and youth access recreation, with whatever kind of support they may need. When in doubt, it never hurts to ask us!

Collaboration:

Making Play Possible has an established network of partners that are all working to increase access to recreation and who leverage each other’s strengths for the greater good of the community. By working with recreational providers, service organizations, and funders, we strive to meet the needs of children and youth living in Leeds-Grenville and to strengthen our reach through collaboration.

Governance:

Making Play Possible is overseen by a Committee comprised of volunteer community members passionate about increasing access to recreation for children and youth in Leeds-Grenville.

The program has had charitable status since 2004 under the charitable number of Children’s Mental Health of Leeds and Grenville.

Making Play Possible works closely with our partners to increase access to, and inclusion in, recreation for children and youth in our community.
